Success is Not a Blizzard…It’s a Snow Globe.
Fear of Failure. Fear of Success.
I’ve struggled with both.
Thought about it today.
What came to mind was something my Dad used to say.
For the last decade of his life, I lived close by to help with yard work, especially helping with his driveway in Winter.
One storm, we got 18". Took all day to fall.
He said: “Imagine if it all fell at once? It’d make make one hell of a bang!”
Made me think of fearing Failure…or Success.
Helped me realize that life is not like a blizzard that dumps on us all at once.
How do I know this?
My DJ business: Ramblin’ Sounds Entertainment..
The first event I was ever part of happened on November 13, 1993, as part of a company owned by a friend.
A little over a year later, I went off on my own.
Was I scared?
Heck yeah.
WHY?
Because I was not 100% comfortable on the mic, my DJ setup had poor sound, and it was tough earning the trust of clients.
But I did, eventually performing 100+ events per year.
Didn’t happen all at once.
Not a one-sheet blizzard…a snow-globe.
My speaking business?
Same thing.
